Do not diagnose a protected out-of-water transducer as a dead source

If the source is being tested on the trailer or above the waterline, put the transducer in water and repeat the same source check before changing power, network or transducer hardware. Record any transmit-protection setting before altering it.

Failure domain: power. Record only what happened to the symptom; do not infer a failed component from a single branch.
